2W2T 2019 Speaker

2019 International Conference on Advances in Water and Wastewater Treatment Technologies!

Keynote Speaker: Prof. Lee Shun-cheng

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong

Bio: Prof. Lee earned a Doctorate in Environmental Sciences at the University of California, Berkeley in 1994. He has been working on indoor and outdoor air pollution studies. Prof. Lee established the first Laboratory of Carbon Aerosols in Asia in 2003 and has led to carry out a great number of national key research programs in chemical characteristics, sources, transportations, transformations, and environmental & health effects of urban/regional PM2.5, carbon aerosols, secondary pollutants, and toxic gaseous pollutants, providing the significant scientific and technological supports for Chinese Government to develop PM2.5 air quality standards and pollution control policies. He has completed the first and comprehensive emission inventory and source emission profiles of vehicles, cooking, ships, and household cleaners in Hong Kong. He has published 245 papers in the international journals, being cited by SCI in total of 10485 times (h-index: 60) so far and over 100 times of single citation for 30 papers. Therefore, he became one of Top-20 Worldwide Chinese Outstanding Scientists in environmental and ecology field by their highest citation over 10 years. His research group won the second prize in 2012 China's State Natural Science Award on Physical & Chemical Characteristics, Formation Processes, and Environmental Changes of Aerosols from Loess and Dust. In 2016, he became one of 4 winners (Aerosol Field) in the Special Contribution Award of the 30th anniversary of Chinese Society of Particuology. All of his achievements are recognitions of his academic standing in the field.

Plenary Speaker: Prof. Chung-shin Jonathan Yuan

National Sun Yat-sen University, Taiwan

Bio: Dr. Chung-Shin Jonathan Yuan is a Full Professor in the Institute of Environmental Engineering at National Sun Yat-sen University in Taiwan. Prof. Yuan got his Master Degree of Environmental Engineering from National Taiwan University and received his Ph.D. from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). He is now the Associate Editor of J. Air and Waste Management Association (JA&WMA) and the Senior Editor of Aerosol and Air Quality Research (AAQR) and Aerosol Science and Engineering (ASE). He has served as the Vice President of The Chinese Institute of Environmental Engineering, the President of Taiwan Association for Aerosol Research (TAAR), and the Vice President of Asian Aerosol Research Assembly (AARA). His research field covers resources recovery and recycling, green resources and green energy, air quality monitoring and sampling, air pollution control technology, and aerosol science and technology, greenhouse gas monitoring.  Recent studies focus on urban and marine PM2.5, long-range transport, source apportionment and transport of PM2.5 across the Taiwan Strait, atmospheric speciated mercury sampling and analysis, photocatalytic and ozonolytic degradation of VOCs and formodehyde, photothermo catalytic oxidation of Hgo, and on-line monitoring of greenhouse gases from open waters.  So far, Prof. Yuan has published 137 SCI journal papers and 721 conference papers.  And, he has also owned 19 invention patents of Taiwan, USA, and China.
